Stories to make you laugh, cry, and think

The stories are in! The response to the Your Favorite Memory contest has been simply incredible. Each and every story is a powerful reminder of the ways Alzheimer’s Disease can impact an individual. Even more importantly, they showcase how brave and resiliant a family can be in caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s.

The stories are short, gripping, and inspiring. Click here to read about a mother with an impeccable sense of fashion, a daughter who called her dad Mr. Wonderful, and one woman’s journey that taught her how “Love will safely carry you through the roughest seas”.

And make sure to vote for the story you love. The winning family receives amazing prizes, including a Reel Tribute and gifts from Lacroix, Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, and Massage Envy. Do them a favor by supporting the writers, and tell your friends about it too. Help us spread awareness for Alzheimer’s, one story at a time!

The website with the stories is www.reeltributes.com/vote. Learn more about Alzheimer’s Disease at www.alz.org/desjsepa/

Introducing the Reel Tributes Blog

We’re excited to announce the launch of the Reel Tributes blog! Here’s a sample of some of the exciting issues we’ll be discussing:

  • Personal history:  At Reel Tributes we believe in the importance of preserving family heirlooms, pictures, documents, and of course, stories. Every family has incredible stories. Trust us, some of the most fantastic stories come from  “regular” families. Mark Twain once said, “There was never yet an uninteresting life. Such a thing is an impossibility.” This blog will explain why preserving stories is important, how to do it, and how to share it with friends and family. And since we hear so many great stories, we’ll share them with you.
  • Genealogy: Curious where your ancestors came from, but don’t know where to start? Eager to explore the newest tools for genealogists? We’ll tackle a range of issues related to genealogy research, for the expert and novice alike.
  • Technology: Our team will cover the latest in video, film, and editing tips to help you understand and appreciate the world of film. You’ll see why we believe so strongly in the power of film to revolutionize family memories (and so much more!)

We’ll keep things fresh, fascinating, and most importantly, interactive. Tell us your stories. Share your ideas. Ask your questions. We want to hear from you and look forward to a great time blogging. Cheers!
