Reel Tributes and the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter Partner to Encourage the Preservation of Memories
Alzheimer’s patients now have access to powerful storytelling tools
September 7, 2011 (Philadelphia, PA) – Reel Tributes, the premier producer of personal history films, announces a partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter. The partnership will encourage individuals in the earliest stages of Alzheimer’s disease to record their life stories in customized interviews with oral historians. Reel Tributes will donate a portion of the company’s proceeds to fund the programs and support services offered by the Alzheimer’s Association.
“Reel Tributes produces films for individuals and families who care deeply about their stories and heritage,” David Adelman, Reel Tributes’ founder and CEO. “There could not be a more important group than people with Alzheimer’s disease and their families. The disease affects nearly half of people over the age of 85, and its impact on memory loss is devastating. Memories are stories that should be told and preserved. We look forward to providing patients a therapeutic benefit from telling their stories, and to producing a precious heirloom that their families will enjoy for generations to come.”
“There are so many benefits to having long-term memories and stories readily available for individuals with Alzheimer’s and their families,” says Wendy Campbell, CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter. “Reel Tributes’ staff shows great compassion during the filming process, enabling the film’s production to be a great family memory in itself. We hope that through this partnership, most of our 294,000 constituents will take advantage of this rare opportunity to professionally capture cherished stories while they can.”
Under the new partnership, Reel Tributes and the Alzheimer’s Association will hold presentations with helpful tips on how families can record and preserve their history. The partnership is also launching a contest for Alzheimer’s patients and their families, with valuable prizes including a free Reel Tribute.
